Lourdes Gant’s humble beginnings started in the Philippines. She was born from a poverty stricken family where her mother was book smart and her father was street smart. Graduating from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a BSC in Accountancy and a Masters in Business Administration, she immigrated to Canada in 2004. 4 years later, she joined the aquaculture industry “by marriage.”
Lourdes was considered to be one of Canada’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs, a Stevie Award winner, and her most recent accolade as one of the most influential business women in the West Coast of Canada in sustainable aquaculture from Acquisition International.
She is also the country partner of GeniusU and the Canada Country partner of Pitch In The Sky.
After the pandemic, she launched The Business of Aquaculture podcast in May 2021. As a producer, two years later it’s now considered to be in the Top 60 Sustainable Business podcast.
On a mission to support small to medium aqua culture businesses to grow in a sustainable manner. Lourdes created the Aqua Connect Conference.
